Nature is a beautiful thing even the bones of a fish are intriguing to look at in their uniform structure, we are all surrounded by a natural element everyday even in cities we see plants fighting to survive in the pavement cracks and brickwork. Natural and anatomical subjects have interested and inspired me for years, I feel a connection to nature having grown up in the countryside, for me the energy it expels can only be portrayed in surreal figures and scenes, its structure alone can be a masterpiece in itself. This collection of work encapsulates my view of our natural world in both formal and surreal observation translated with printmaking methods such as etching, monoprint, monotype, collagraph and woodcut.
